A reflection and search for innovative educational models with a more human, critical, creative and responsible perspective.
The main objective of this conference is to raise awareness of Tagore’s educational project as a tool for social and pedagogical transformation and to establish a dialogue with related initiatives and educational models based on creativity and innovation. It will analyse the keys of Tagore’s philosophy and his pedagogical methods, which are still valid and can be applied in our field of education in a relevant way to enrich the current educational system in Spain and open up future lines of research.
The conference will offer through plenary sessions, dialogue spaces and complementary activities a practical analysis of alternative, transdisciplinary and transcultural values and models, which will help to build an educational communitywith the capacity to appreciate the many currents of the Indian cultural tradition together with the humanist and liberal ideas of the West. The approach will be holistic and harmonious, both academic-scientific and practical, oriented towards experimentation in order to offer an interdisciplinary and cross-disciplinary exchange of educational, artistic, cultural, social and creative experiences. Therefore, the transdisciplinary and transcultural character of the congress will approach the academic, social and cultural reality from a new perspective that will allow addressing the challenges faced by educators in today’s society.
The conference will also promote international mobility, an exchange programme with the Visva Bharati University in India, and the collaboration of entities dedicated to education with other academic and cultural research centres in India and other countries.
